We Are
LeaderSmart Consulting is a leadership development and consulting
firm located in Metropolitan Washington, DC. At LeaderSmart, we help leaders
at all levels become more effective,
productive and engaged. We work with a wide cross-section of public
and private organizations that span industry and sector boundaries.

History
LeaderSmart Consulting was founded in 2005 by Mark Peterson as a
Washington DC based leadership
development consulting firm serving public and private clients
throughout the United States. Continued growth and global exposure
increased this scope to include additional national and
international
clients. Today, LeaderSmart provides leadership development
solutions within North America and throughout the World.
Leadership
Mark
Peterson, President and Senior Consultant at LeaderSmart Consulting,
has spent over 20 years serving in leadership
roles and consulting capacities with nationally recognized
consulting firms and Fortune 500 organizations. Over his
career, Mark has
applied his knowledge and skills in the areas of leadership
development, coaching and organizational consulting to help numerous
enterprises overcome challenges and increase effectiveness.
Examples of organizations Mark has worked with are: Ernst & Young, General Motors, The Department of
Defense, The Department of Health and Human Services, The Northern Arizona
Healthcare System and Nestle.
Born in the United States, Mark has worked throughout North America
as well as Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. He holds two
Masters Degrees from Vanderbilt University in Human Resource
Development as well as Theological Studies with a focus on
economics, psychology and ethics. Mark has also taken executive
level education courses in business strategy, finance, and marketing
at Tuck Business School at Dartmouth University. Mark is certified
to use a variety of psychometric assessments, such as the MBTI
(Myers-Briggs) and the Apter Motivational Indicator.
Mark, a past member of the Board of Directors of the DC Metro
Chapter of the American Society for Training Development (ASTD), is
also a certified coach with the International Coaching Federation.
He remains active with a number of other professional associations
including ASTD International, The OD Network and The American
Management Association. In his spare time Mark remains active in
the community by volunteering with a variety of not for profit
organizations including Habitat for Humanity of Latin America and The
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
